Unlock the true power of TEAM

How much is ineffective or mediocre teamwork costing your company?

Companies cannot afford to have ineffective teams, yet this ineffectiveness often goes ignored.

The ineffectiveness likely exists in a fundamental gap: a gap between the group and its shared vision or a gap between the individuals themselves. If your team cannot consistently identify and correct for existing gaps, it may never be as dynamic and effective as it could be, regardless of the individuals’ talents or skills. The gaps are usually due to:

  • Lack of alignment with the purpose or mission: team members put individual interests over group interests and do not systematically think about the shared vision.

  • Lack of psychological and emotional safety: team members do not trust one other, hide their disagreements, and are unwilling to share honest feedback with each other.

  • Lack of clarity, focus, and accountability: team members are unclear around the most important goals, are pulled in different directions, or do not keep themselves or each other accountable to commitments.

  • Lack of “team-learning” and growth mindset: team members have not created feedback loops or do not stop to assess how well they are working together as a team.

The power of your leadership team begins to emerge when your team acknowledges where it currently is and where it wants to go. And when the team takes responsibility for contributing in their unique ways that can strengthen team’s collective competency. The best teams are not only committed to the larger business goals, but they are also committed to continually building trust, communicating openly, and improving the team itself.

What happens in a team coaching engagement?

  • Who. We seek to understand the innate leadership qualities of each individual team member and his or her level of trust and openness with each another as a unit. Who are we as individuals and who are we as a whole?

  • Why. We develop clarity on the team’s shared vision and its goals: Is the organization’s “Why” clear and understood? Is everyone aligned and moving in the same direction?

  • What. We uncover the issues that the team currently faces and what hinders effectiveness. What are the root causes of the team’s current inability to work as effectively together as it could? What is happening at a systematic level?

  • How. Using a combination of interviews, 360 assessments, or surveys, we assess the team at both an individual and group level to understand both its potential and limitations. Using this, we develop a customized development plan for the team (and potentially individuals via Leadership Coaching) over a 6 to 12 month period to facilitate new, more powerful ways of working together. How can the team work together more effectively AND enjoy working together more?
